There are many ways early humans built their homes, huts, tee-pees, and tents. In the Summer, they would set up the tents by stringing it between two trees or by covering sticks tied together with the tanned hides of animals.
In the Winter, the hominids also wrapped tanned hides around logs which were placed in holes they dug. On the bottom of the tent they weighted it down with rocks and dirt so they would be safe during storms.
